WATER/DANCING
recent work by Bob Emmott
ARTIST STATEMENT
"Long before I started to photograph dancers, I always tried to direct my images, no matter what the subject, to dance. What I sought was for the viewers eye to move through the photograph - to follow a rhythm, sometimes 4/4 time, but more often odd time signatures, creating an asymmetrical journey full of turns and leaps.
Through my photographing dance and then more recently to movement of water, I find excitement and joy in the intersection of their common energies."
